i love midlake. i saw them live last year at the wexner center here in columbus, and was so blown away. and for me, it's sort of a fall & winter thing. enjoy!

it's past midnight, so it's monday! here is a little something i did in honor of all of my cute friends growing mustaches (or you know, moustaches). happy movember! i'll have to get something going for "novembeard" too!

i am so excited that today is local business day (small business day). it's really neat to see people investing in their own communities, and in genuine people. it's way more fun and meaningful! don't you think?

i've been sifting through color schemes in illustrator for a while now. there are so many to choose from! how will i ever remember it all? in the mean time i'll just make cute pinwheels.

i'm sorry i didn't post anything for monday design. i have no idea if a. anyone actually reads this blog so i don't feel totally accountable and b. the few things i wanted to post, i don't think are totally finished, so you (if you exist) will have to wait! but! not all is lost. i did decide to make a little pinwheel. i am inspired by the little things, pinwheels being one of them!

ah yes, happy thanksgiving! i don't know about you, but i'm full of sweet potatoes and other delights. thanksgiving is actually a wonderful day to be a vegetarian. but, i thought i'd introduce you to a little boy who claims, "bacon is good for me!" it makes me laugh so much. i can't stand it! enjoy!

i recently caught a show of Donora when they were playing at the columbus music week festival this year. they're from pittsburgh, and well, i am smitten. they are so fun and upbeat. it really makes you feel good. happy tuesday!

otherwise, today i'm just going to tell you what's going on! with me. i was recently nominated as an advocate for a really neat program. it's called Liga Masiva. they describe themselves as a global farmer's market. it is meant to create a relationship, a direct & fair one, between you and your coffee farmer. it's pretty interesting, and is something i actually really care about. coffee and justice. yum! i'm still learning, but i'll probably be letting you in on it here & there.

oh yeah, and the coffee tastes delicious! seriously!

it's tuesday! and tunes day! so i'll throw some music on the page that i've been listening to as of late.

i've always enjoyed metric, and this song in particular. now i love it even more. and have also added buenos aires as to my list of places to visit.

i'm a student studying graphic design. i've already done the whole 4 year undergrad thang, but fast found out that it wasn't exactly all that it's cracked up to be. don't get me wrong, i still respect the work done in the international development field. it's just well, not for me. i know i'm not the first person in the world to say something to that effect. am i?

ok! to challenge myself, i'd like to share a design each monday. it'll give me a reason to do something other than homework! hooray!

i'm hilary, and i'm an ok kid. i was born in oklahoma. my heart is in ohio, but i really like the idea of where you come from, and how it's made you who you are. i've blogged on a few blogs on many occasions, but i'm ready for a fresh start. i hope i can use this space to share the things i make, the music i love, the people i know, and a whole lot more.
